GFRG and GFRC Fabrication Services

ASRNYC provides fabrication services for Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) and Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) in New York City and its surrounding areas. These durable materials can be cast into innumerable shapes, textures, and colors. Applications include cornices, column covers, fireplace, window and door surrounds, curved walls, coffered ceilings, and domes.

What is GFRG?

Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is a composite cast material that combines industrial-grade, continuous strand fiberglass with additives to make it highly durable and capable of being cast into complex architectural designs.

GFRG is a GYPSUM based product that contains glass fibers. GFRG can be cast into many shapes and textures for architectural applications. GFRG typically comes in sheets, slabs or panels which are ideal for curved walls and domes. GFRG creates a uniform panel with uniform strength properties, good surface quality and good tolerances. Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is one of the most effective materials for interior architectural design.

What is GFRC?

Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete is a composite cast material consisting of cement, aggregate and additives. Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement can be used to create the same look as traditional stone without any weight limitations!

GFRC is a CONCRETE based product that also contains glass fibers. GFRC can be cast into any shape desired by the customer. GFRC has very high compressive strengths when compared to GFRG panels of the same thickness because it does not contain internal voids associated with GFRG’s. GFRC is a lightweight alternative to traditional concrete that offers many of its own benefits, such as reduced shipping and less pressure on the foundation. The high strength to weight ratio of GFRC makes it an excellent material for use in buildings that are subject to harsh conditions. It also prevents cracking, chipping and water damage.

GFRG vs GFRC- What’s the difference?

Both are made through similar processes, but reinforced gypsum is lightweight and ideal for interior use while concrete can stand up to water and is best for outdoor spaces.

ASRNYC is the leading fabricator of architectural GFRG and GFRC. Our team of talented designers will take your ideas from concept into reality. From the initial design phase all the way through installation.
